EHASEFLEX Expert Tips: Compensator Expansion Joint Installation

  1. Storage – Keep in a clean, dry area away from heavy traffic or damaging conditions.
  2. Lifting – Use only designated lifting lugs for handling.
  3. Piping Alignment – Adjust the piping system to fit the joint. Do not force the joint by stretching, compressing, or offsetting.
  4. Flange Installation – Leave one flange loose until the joint is properly positioned, then align and weld.
  5. Flow Direction – Install with the arrow pointing in the direction of flow.
  6. Single Van Stone Liner – Point the liner in the flow direction and install gaskets between the liner/flange and mating flange.
  7. Telescoping Liners – The smallest I.D. liner must face the flow direction.
  8. Remove Shipping Devices – Take off all shipping restraints before pressure testing.
  9. Inspection Clear any debris may lodged in the convolutions.
